Overview

  • EuroPOS is an integrated, multiuser point-of-sale (with some accounting) program for computer systems running any OS with Perl support (Windows, Linux/*NIX, Mac, etc.). It allows businesses to track inventory, sales, customers, and other accounting tasks in a single or multi register setup. EuroPOS is designed for both retail stores and restaurants. The project derives L'ânePOS, and is a port of it to a multi-platform environment and MySQL (instead of PostgreSQL). A better error/warnings handling has been added, along with a complete internationalization of the package.
  • EuroPOS is meant for people who are not familiar with computer systems. It’s learning curve is equal to zero. Every person who can use a cash drawer can use EuroPOS also. EuroPOS mimics the look and the functionality of a cash drawer, but it is also a strong, complete and professional package.
  • Requirements
      • A computer running an OS which supports Perl and MySQL (Windows, Linux/*NIX, Mac, etc.)
      • A supported receipt printer (typically an ESC/POS compliant printer)
      • A cash drawer connected to the receipt printer (ESC/POS standard)
      • A programmable keyboard (optional) or the new keyboard remapping support and a standard keyboard for the retail interfaces
OR a touch screen (for the restaurant and touch retail interface)
      • Perl v5.006+ (5.8 aka 5.008 with multi-threading support is advised, and needed for Unicode support as well as XML support)
      • MySQL v3.23.x+, with the DBI and DBD::mysql Perl modules
      • Perl/Tk Module (for the admin and back office programs, registerTouch, registerRetail, and registerQuick)
